Team A enjoyed a beautiful run from Taree through to Pacific Palms today. The coastline in this region of Australia is so completely compelling; members on our team all agreed it was worth coming all the way to Australia just for the views on this day.

We checked into our accommodation for the evening to be greeted by a very jovial bunch of vintage car enthusiasts who after holding the Torch themselves took us for a drive around Forster in their “pride and joys”.

We had a spectacular running day today, from Taree to Raymond Terrace: deep blue lakes on one side and turquoise ocean on the other, through beautiful green forests and up and down rolling hills – all of us were eager to jump out of the van and run.

Edi seemed to get all the big hills today, he is a strong runner, moves up and over each hill with determined steadiness and stamina:

And of course the only place to pull over is the top of the hill so he had to run all all all the way up and then it was Veeraja who got to run down the other side...

Running through forest like this always reminds me of Canada. With the many lakes and winding tree-lined roads shading each step, today could have been another day years ago when I ran with the World Harmony Run across Canada...

...but I must confess there is nothing like the Australian coastline and gorgeous beaches where I'm from and today we had a sampling of some fantastic coastline:

Moving along at a runner's pace gives one a unique experience – we see things that, if you were driving by, you would miss entirely and this is part of the Run that sometimes is profoundly inpsiring and sometimes just plain fun:

So many beautiful moments throughout the day with nature and children and people of all walks of life who seem to respond so wholeheartedly to us. We are all grateful for this opportunity to be touched by the beauty and vastness of this Australian world.

Thanks to the large heart of The Great Lakes Motor Inn for offering us accommodations last night.
