World Harmony Run relays onto Parliament Hill June 2, 2005.

Champion athletes and school children escort the torch on its final steps to the Parliament Hill ceremony

Torch bearers Olympic Medalist Sue Holloway and renowned Explorer Geoff Green along with the World Harmony relay team were ushered into the ceremony through a symbolic "Guard of Honour" by colourfully dressed flag- bearers representing more than 30 countries.

Canadian Minister of Sport Hon. Stephen Owen receives the torch from Olympian Sue Holloway. In his speech Stephen Owen described how sport brought peace to warring states through the creation of the Olympic Games.

Speaker of the House of Commons Hon. Peter Milliken said in his speech to the World Harmony Runners and special guests, "…This special international event deserves to be applauded and supported and I am very glad to have been invited to share in this very special occasion with you."

Asst. Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons Hon. Jean Augustine said, "… the fact that this run is taking place, the fact that we are focusing on the word ‘harmony’ … has to be commended…" She expressed her deep respect for the founder of the World Harmony Run, "…Sri Chinmoy is missed here today and we wish him the very best…"

Ambassadors hold torch together. In attendance at the Parliament Hill Ceremony were Ambassadors from: Angola, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Chile, Ethiopia, Iceland, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan and Thailand, and the High Commissioner for South Africa.
