16 May:

Today we visited two beautiful schools in Espanola, one primary, Ecole Saint Joseph, and one secondary, Ecole Franco-Ouest.

The children of Saint Joseph’s were energetic and enthusiastic. By the end of the event everybody felt great and we were ready for our run to town hall with the high school students of Franco-Ouest. Their gym teacher, Madame Lamarche, led the pack, braving the rainy weather.

Though some ran faster then others, everybody arrived on time to hear the proclamation delivered by council member Steven Labbs on behalf of Mayor Bernie Gagnon.

Aujourd'hui nous avons visité deux très belles écoles à Espanola, une primaire, l'école Saint-Joseph, et l'autre secondaire, l'école Franco-Ouest.

Les enfants à Saint-Joseph étaient énergiques et enthousiastes. Arrivé à la fin de l'événement tous se sentaient énergisés et d'autant plus prêt de courir jusqu'à l'hôtel de ville avec les étudiants du secondaire Franco-Ouest. Leur proffesseure d'activitée physique, Madame Lamarche, menait le peloton, bravant le temps pluvieux.

Bien que certains couraient plus rapidement que d'autres, tout le monde est arrivé à temps pour entendre le membre du conseil Steven Labbs lire la proclamation au nom du maire Bernie Gagnon.

Later that afternoon in the town of Lively, the students of Ecole Saint-Paul lived up to the name of their town - students and teachers alike were welcoming, friendly and vivacious. They gave us a cordial send-off as we embarked on our 20k run into Sudbury.

Plus tard cet après-midi à Lively, les étudiants de l'école Saint-Paul se sont montrés très animés - les élèves tout comme les professeurs était charmants, amiables et dynamiques. Leur entrain lança du bon pied notre course de 20 km vers Sudbury.
