Our friend Gautumi joined us today. She’ll be with us for a week on our relay across the country.

Notre amie Gautumi s'est jointe à nous aujourd'hui. Elle sera avec nous pendant une semaine lors de notre relais à travers le pays.

We started our rather damp and grey day in Sault St. Marie, at Alexander Henry High School. After introductions and our presentation, we did a short visualization with the students that encouraged feelings of harmony in our hearts. Before saying goodbye, we all went outside for a short run with the torch.

C'est sous un ciel nuageux et gris que nous avons commencé notre journée à Sault-Ste-Marie, à l'École Secondaire Alexander Henry. À la fin de notre présentation, nous avons fait un exercice de visualisation très apprécié par les étudiants afin de développer le sentiment d'harmonie dans notre coeur. Au moment de se dire aurevoir, nous sommes tous sortis courir un peu avec le flambeau.

Next, we ran to St. Theresa Catholic School.

Nous avons ensuite couru jusqu' à l'École "St. Theresa Catholic School".

The staff and the students very kindly showed us what harmony means to them and how they incorporate these ideals into their everyday life with each other at the school.

Le personnel et les étudiants nous ont gentiment démontré ce que signifie pour eux l'harmonie et la manière de manifester ces idéaux au quotidien à l'école.

After a quick trip to the airport and a sad farewell to team member Kristi, we headed for Thessalon. We met the town's friendly Mayor, Donna Latulippe at the edge of town, and she escorted us to Thessalon Public School. The Mayor not only introduced us to the students and staff, but also assisted us with our presentations! Now that’s what we call HARMONY! Outside, we passed the torch to the older students and then visited the sweet and receptive younger students in their classrooms. We said goodbye to everyone and ran to the Thessalon Town Hall.

Après un bref détour jusqu'à l'aéroport et un triste aurevoir à Kristi notre chère co-équipière, nous sommes partis pour Thessalon. Nous avons rencontré la Mairesse Donna Latulippe à la limite de la ville. Elle nous a escorté jusqu'à l'école "Thessalon Public School". La Mairesse, non seulement nous a elle-même présentés aux étudiants et au personnel, mais nous a aussi assistés dans notre cérémonie! Voilà, ce qu'on appelle l'HARMONIE! À l'extérieur, nous avons fait circuler le flambeau de main en main chez les étudiants plus âgés. Puis, nous sommes allés dans les classes des plus jeunes, tous aimables et attentifs. Juste le temps de dire à la prochaine et nous voilà repartis pour l'hôtel de ville de Thessalon.

Our last event of the day was in Espanola where a World Harmony Run supporter, Cheryl Kenelly had arranged a warm welcome at the Espanola Recreation Centre. About 30 smiling faces of all ages were there to greet us as we walked around the Arena, passing the torch.

La dernière rencontre de la journée a eu lieu à Espanola où Cheryl Kenelly, un supporteur de la CHM, avait prepare un accueil chaleureux au Centre Récréatif Espanola. Une trentaine de visages souriants, de tous les âges, nous ont souhaité la bienvenue alors que nous faisions un tour dans l'aréna avec le flambeau.

At the end of a long and inspiring day we were received at the Espanola Pinewood Motor Inn. They kindly provided us with a charmingly rustic and most comfortable room for the night.

Au terme d'une longue journée mais bien inspirante, nous avons été reçus au Motel "Espanola Pinewood Motor Inn", qui nous a aimablement fourni gratuitement une chambre au charme rustique et des plus confortable pour la nuit.
