Our special gratitude to the following towns and people for making our day very special:

Thanks for running with us, special thanks to her sweet daughter who baked the most delicious muffins for us.

Sandy Lakes: To the entire community our deep gratitude. They welcomed us with open hearts.

Tyson thanks for running with us, next time you will have to run with us to the next town!!.

Also a very special thanks to the Lions Club of Sandy Lakes for providing an offering of $100 towards a delicious dinner for all the runners. We would like to share with everyone the beautiful letter/speech they made for us:

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting us today. It is such a pleasure and we are honoured to have met you wonderful people who are doing such a nice thing for the whole world. Thanks Again!

A cheque was not a good idea since you are on the road a lot so we are giving you $100 in cash for food along the way.

Town of Sandy Lake

Welcome World Harmony Runners!

I bring you greetings on behalf of the Rural Municipality of Harrison. Thank you for making Sandy Lake one of the chosen stops along your route. Reve Anthony Kowalchuk asked me to speak to you today. After running with the Torch, he planned to be on oxygen.

We appreciate witnessing today what over 100 other countries world wide are seeing as well: people taking part in an awareness program for Peace.

As a musician, “harmony” to me means many voices singing as one. Different notes put together to form a unified chord. You may or may not always like the sound they make, but it still creates a musical message. There is always an audience for every style. The important thing in harmony is to be together. Through tolerance and acceptance of our differences, perhaps we can learn to listen to the universal message of your World Harmony Run – Peace.

By carrying this torch through our community and others like it, your Run gives us all an opportunity to “harmonize” for Peace in this world.

Thank you for sharing your message today & good luck in the miles ahead!

This was a delicious treat of fresh fruit provided by the Town of Rossburn

Sevati was inspired to offer you a little narrative of a typical moring for team A:

6:00 am ding ding ding….ohhhh it’s Tanuja’s alarm clock. Last night it was our day with a single bed each, we take turns, it’s five of us and we get two rooms every night with two double beds who ever shares gets the a room the next day with their own beds, no sharing, from tomorrow on it’s six of us…it will get complicated to rotate the single beds, we might have to go to a raffle type system soon. So far our youngest and smallest team member seems to be the luckiest one, she manages to get a single bed most often…she move like a hurricane I am told…I did not get my turn with her yet, I will have to take their word for it.

So we get up at around 6am and slowly like corpses one after the other, we take our turn in the shower, the coffee drinkers find their way to the needed cup… after breakfast we all meet by the car with our packed bags, load it, claim our spot in the vehicle according to our daily tasks, and off we go to our scheduled events and running. I can say with some certainty that most people probably don’t imagine that the running is the least of our chores…today for instance we drove to our running starting point, I offered to be the first one out so the car stops and I step out fill the torch with fuel, light it and start running, I request 3kms, the car drives ahead and stops at the 3km mark, Tanuja jumps out and she does the same amount and in this fashion we leap frog for 13kms each…we are now getting hungry…

Prapti is now running towards the appointed town were we have a meeting, we will hold a small ceremony and continue running to our next event. Lunches or snacks are happening as we drive and run. Some times there is food and drinks at the events…. We are done with the events for the day, but it’s not over, in fact big part of the day still remains to be completed. Tasks are now being assigned as we drive to our resting place…once there, we will need to do laundry, buy food, prepare a narrative and select pictures for the website, this can take a long time depending on the day and amount of events and pictures taken …the schedule for the next day needs to be studied and the car needs to get cleaned. Oh yes dinner has to be obtained also; we are usually done by 10 -12PM, depending on your job, at which time we just want to sleep.

6:00am ding, ding, ding…it’s a new day on the run. Wonder what new sceneries and people we will encounter today, every day is a new adventure.

TEAM B

Due to unusual circumstances, the Harmony Run arrived two hours early in Rossburn and the runners had little option but to partake of the kind hospitality of Valerie and her cafe. Also fortunately for Abichal, the cafe also had a wireless connection available. It seems Abichal has grown another organ as he is inseparable from his laptop, but he seems to be playing freecell all the time... when he's not checking his email.

Abichal and Jack, who brought his own cup and chair to the cafe.

This is Sadie and she is holding a real garter snake. Not dangerous but this is a fearless lady.

Shirley Kalniuk, mayor of Rossburn, Manitoba, accepts a certificate of Appreciation

and the Harmony Run is given a traditional welcome by First Nation members from the Waywayseecappo tribe who kindly offered a song

Citizens of Rossburn pass the torch.

Plenty of food was provided inside the Rossburn Town Hall where Abichal was delighted to absorb a substantial quantity of tasty veggie-burgers

and running half a dozen blocks

with Abichal

These guys rode out to the edge of town and the highway to escort the torch on its way.

I felt such a warm feeling in my heart as we waved goodbye and hit the road again.
