Canada 21 September: Toronto - Owen Sound

Sunday morning meeting and breakfast was at Annapurna Restarurant (1085 Bathurst St. Toronto). The World Harmony Runners were lavishly cared for by the restaurant owners Shivaram and Devavira Trichur, who provided an early breakfast for the runners.

From Bathurst Street, the runners made their way to the first meeting of the day where members of the local Sikh community gathered to carry the torch.

Holding the torch is Sophia (front left) who is helping organise the Childrens Run Across Canada.

On arrival at the Gur Sabha Gurudwara, the World Harmony Run was met by the Mayor of Markham, Frank Scarpiti (centre) who offered a few kind words of encouragement to the runners and members of the Gurudwara and Father Terry Gallagher (in front of banner).

All ears were for the Mayor of Markham as he offerred his thoughts and wishes for peace and cooperation within and between communities.

After rest and delicious refreshments in the beautiful Gurudwara, the girls' team shared a moment of harmony.

The Harmony Run was an opportunity to rehearse for the Childrens Run Across Canada which is planning to involve hundreds of people in a relay across the breadth of Canada. The runners re-grouped and ran a little way along the road before heading off to the next ceremony.
