Canada 10 September: Pierreville, PQ - Sherbrooke, PQ

Team A

This morning we visited Ecole Maurault in Pierreville. For the first time we were able to prepare the schedule so both teams were present.

Elke Lindner of Germany ran the torch into the school.

The Pierreville Mayor, Mr. Andre Descoteau received the runners.

Adarini presented the message of the Run to the school children.

These two were delighted that the torch visited their school.

Eric proudly represented his country.

Our next appointment was Windsor where we were received by the Mayor Malcom Wheeler and city officials.

Mayor Wheeler was very supportive of our efforts and made us feel proud to be World Harmony Runners.

We all signed the visitors' book.

A representative from Winsdor ran with us as we left town.

Gabriel and Eric finish off the miles for the day.

Team B

Today is a real Indian summer day,and after days of rain we are finally getting some sun. Our first ceremony was at 1pm at Pierreville a l'ecole Maurault where cute children and the mayor Mr. Andre Descoteau held the torch.

We had quite a few Km before reaching our next ceremony in Drummondville, home town of Manapriti Edith, one of our team members. How can she keep it a secret!?

The 'Conseiller Municipal' Jean Shooner and Raynald Foncier ran with us in the spirit of harmony. They were very athletic. If only they had had jogging shoes, I am sure they would have covered some Km's for us. (Maybe next year).

The Conseiller Municipal Jean Shooner prepared a beautiful speech of welcome in perfect English. However, our dear friend and organizer, Manapriti Edith totally blanked out.  At the end of his talk when it was her turn to speak, her first sentence was, "Do you speak English?" We all had a good laugh.

She is great and fun to have around, but we do get lost a lot.

We finally arrived at our sleeping abode, Manoir Le Tricorne in North Hatley. Oh my God, it is so beautiful-a Manor with  a jacuzzi and  two runners per room!  What a luxury for us.

Special thanks also to Hotel le Baron for hosting the men's team - very much appreciated.
