Canada 29 September: Yorkton - Saskatoon

TEAM A

Thanks to Marilyn from the Parlkand Inn.

We really enjoyed the stay at your nice hotel

Terry Dennis from Canora was the first Mayor we met today.

Hello to Dennis and his assistant.

Later on Mayor of Buchanan, Adam Kosar and his friendly wife Shirley showed up on the highway to greet us.

“…unbelievable what you are doing! It’s incredible…!”, he said.

They were so supportive and positive. We hope to see you again on the next run!

We had to run 57 kilometres today before we reached the little town of Invermay.

This was the little village of Rama.

In Invermay we went to the “Talk of Town Café”

where we got to know Sherrie Jack, the owner. She provided us with French Fries and hot drinks, so that we were prepared for the second half of the day. Thank you Sherrie!

The Invermay Health Centre was just on our way, so why not just hop in and sing our theme song for them?

We also passed the torch around and shared joy.Nice.

At 2:30 the students of Invermay School were waiting for us and we had a nice meeting with them in the gym.

The school receives the certificate of appreciation.

We shared the torch.

School is over. Yippee!! Time to go home…

-Elke Lindner

TEAM B

Special thanks to mayor Chris Wyatt of Yorkton for plying us with a delicious and hearty breakfast at The Parkland Inn in Yorkton.

The Mayor of Canora greets the run in Canora, Saskatchewan.

Tanuja runs out of Canora as the first runnner of the day.

Anne Sanderson, a reporter for the Wadena News, holds the torch for a candid cameo just outside Wadena Saskatchewan.

Anvita poses for an immortal moment at the end of our run in Watson, home of the first you-know-who day.
