Activities for Children
Each year the World Harmony Run visits countless schools around the world. Students get to meet the runners, hold the torch and express their own hopes and dreams for a more harmonious world. Here are a few ways children and schools can participate.
Sport is a powerful instrument for fostering harmony and establishing bonds fo friendship among the diverse peoples of the world. We invite you to run a few steps, a few blocks or a few miles with the torch. Organize a run in your school yard, or cheer the World Harmony Run team as they pass through your community.
Take a look at the Canadian Route to see when the Torch will be in your region. You can arrange for your school to have a visit by the World Harmony Run Team by contacting us at: canada <at> worldharmonyrun <dot> org or by phone: 1-877-243-6433

Learn about the diversity and richness of peoples and cultures from around the world. Study a globe or map and identify the countries, continents and oceans. What languages do they speak? What do they eat? What is special about their culture? How are they the same as people in your own country? Share what you have learned with your class.
