Denmark 4 May: Løkken - Kristiansand (Norway)

Our last day in Denmark was supposed to be easy. At least it started like that: Namitabha and our host Thorsten Ussing took off to continue the route along the coast for approx. 10km.

That was the last time we saw them for 3 hours...

Long hours later and after a serious search mission we met all unexpectedly on a totally different location.

Many thanks to our nice helpers who delivered our runner!

Meanwhile the Run had to continue and we enjoyed the company of a great running club!

LIUF Hjørring welcomed us!

...we approached the harbor of Hirtshals. No, that's not our boat...

That's our boat!

A big "Thank You" to Color Line for supporting the World Harmony Run and for sponsoring the transfer to Norway!

...in line for the boat...

...a final view of Denmark: we really enjoyed the Run here - a beautiful country, many nice people and great hospitality! Thanks for everything!

...a first impression Norway...

Welcome to Norway! We arrived in Kristiansand and went straight to the city hall, where Mayor Jörgen Kristiansen welcomed us!

After the official passing of the torch we got an excellent modern insight into the city of Kristiansand. Founded in 1641 by the Danish king, the city is leading in many high-tech branches of the oil industry.

...sightseeing in the city hall...

...the mayor explained us the coat of arms of Kristiansand...

Mayor Kristiansen showed us the centre of the city. To our embarrassment our Van parked exacly on the spot. That's hard to top...

Thank you for the meeting and the nice gifts!

The sun is setting late in Scandinavia, so we decided to run already a part of next day's route...

Right outside of the city the famous Norwegian countryside with its picturesque Fjords started. A perfect beginning for the new country...
