This would be a record day in kilometers: 140km from Sinsheim to Tübingen.
In the morning we again visited two schools with enthusiastic kids, in Adelshofen and Heilbronn-Böckingen.
We were also received by the Mayors of Eppingen, Heilbronn, Marbach and a Veronika Kienzle as city representative of Stuttgart. Each of them held the torch and most ran a few steps with us, again with lots of media attention!
In Marbach, we also visited the Schiller National Museum (the day before was the 200th anniversary of Schiller's death) and took photos in front of the Schiller statue with Dr. Kamzelak, who then also ran with us.
Since Sunday, the weather has been compassionate to us, in spite of the forecast. Only into Stuttgart, Dragan from Bosnia got totally drenched, and when we joined him to run up to the City Hall, the sun came out again!
I had to say good-bye to the team, who continued to Tübingen for a reception the next morning.

The run from the Town Hall started off easy and flat but was soon replaced with a challenging uphill section for a few kilometres. The local Stuttgart organisers had the course worked out perfectly. The vehicles and runners always seemed to be synchronised: despite traffic lights and traffic delays, the vehicle would catch up to the runner just when an important turn needed to be communicated.
Out of the residential area, the countryside was brightened by a multitude of wild flowers growing in the grass beside the narrow bike track. The undulating course took us by an historic monastery called Bebenhausen, which words can’t adequately describe. In the late afternoon sunlight the scene was very reminiscent of scenes of the “Shire” from Lord of the Rings.
The day's running finished in the beautifully preserved Town Square of Tübingen, where we were greeted enthusiastically by friends of the one of the local runners. It was then a short drive to a park for a nourishing meal prepared by the Stuttgart organisers.
