Germany 11 May: Tübingen - Augsburg

This morning we started with a run to Tübingen City Hall, through the market place and past many historic buildings. We were met there by the energetic Lady Mayoress, and a dozen 5-year-old children who stole the show with their cute behaviour.

After photos inside and outside the "Rathause", the children accompanied us for the first 500m of our way out of Tübingen.

The run really started to get serious 15km later with a 7km hill to the top of Schwaebische Alb. Four men ran together, motivated by the challenge and the natural beauty of the forest.

The scenery remained quite spectacular all the way to Bad Urach, where the running stopped and we drove to Augsburg for a special local World Harmony Run event.

Prior to the "Tour de Augsburg," the WHR team were all treated to food and drinks at the Cosmos-Heart Café.

Local runners from Augsburg, joined by runners from Munich and the International team, were escorted by a police motor bike for a 7km run through the historic streets of Augsburg.

The run finished in the City Hall Square under the gaze of the statue of Augustus Caesar, founder of the city 2000 years ago.

Distance: 57km
