Estonia 23 May: Narva - Mustvee

Welcome to Estonia! The majestic castle of Narva greeted us as we crossed the border from Russia...

...a city representative of Narva welcomed us at the border and together we ran to our first meeting:

...the Narva Soldino Gymnasium....

...kids from the gymnasium and from a track and field club met us in the Aula.

...after a short presentation the fun started...

Thanks for the great welcome!

...our first km's through the beautiful nature of Estonia...

As we reached Sillamäe, groups of kids were waitig for us and joined us at different places on our run through the city....

...runners from five different schools participated...

Thanks to the police we crossed the city safely...

The city representative welcomed the runners...

soon after Sillamäe we met a group of cross country skiing athletes along the road. They did turns in joining us...

...we reached Illuka, were the mayor and school children welcomed us...

...a nice presentation in a friendly atmosphere...

..the stamps did their job...

Thank you Illuka!

We started running off together...

...we said good bye to the children and continued running with the athletes..

...the kids did 1km - splits at top speed - they gave us a tough time but it was real fun...

..in Kuremäe we visited the Nunnery...

...a spontaneous meeting..

...filling our water supplies...

...later during the day we reached Peipsi Järv, a huge lake which is the border between Estonia and Russia...

...a perfect running day through the beautiful nature of Estonia came to an end...
