Oxford - Aylesbury - Milton Keynes - Cambridge
The morning began with three crews out on the road taking us from Waddesdon to Cambridge through the very many small villages and hamlets in the great agricultural zones that surround most of our local urban areas.
Our route took us through Aylesbury and onto smaller points like Stewkleyon while running to Milton Keynes. We were met there by monks at the Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda, who greeted us with drums and chanting. The runners were invited into the Temple for meditation, and afterwards were feted with a delicious meal.
From Milton Keynes we made our way toward Bedford, before going on to Cambridge.
In the evening we arrived in the beautiful and historic city of Cambridge, and were kindly hosted by two of the Colleges. Darwin College generously hosted the Team for a comfortable overnight stay, and representatives of King’s College enthusiastically accepted the Harmony Torch.
The runners were delighted to run around the college quad with porter Ian Gray holding the torch aloft, and just to be at the College enjoying the stunning architecture of the Chapel.
