Manchester - Chester - Wrexham - Llangollen
The day began at Platfields Park in south Manchester. There we were met by Manchester Play, an organisation offering play opportunities to children. ( manchesterplay.org) . The children were full of enthusiasm and ran with us at full pelt around the park with the torch and flag.
On to Chester where the Mayor received us with great support and enthusiasm, even running with us for a little way in full regalia before bidding us farewell as we headed south into Wales.
It was another warm welcome in Wrexham, our first stop over Welsh borders. The Mayor showed us around, even braving the inclement weather for a photo shoot in the town centre.
We finished the day in Llangollen
