England 29 September: London - Canterbury

The World Harmony Runners were greeted with more compassion from the weather gods this morning. Fortunately there were no functions scheduled for today so we were able to squeeze in a photography shoot in some of the more famous tourist spots.

The white van team began the day’s running at the Greenwich Observatory where Annemarie, the Netherlands representative, was first to claim the torch and begin the journey by crossing the meridian line from west to east.

As the morning passed the weather improved, eventually the sun came out and the temperatures rose to pleasant levels.

The route went through Dartford toward Greenhithe and Rochester after which we took to the small roads through the Kent countryside winding gradually towards Waltham and Petham and entering Canterbury from the Southwest, running through the town and ending the journey at Canterbury Cathedral.

Steve Guy was there to greet us and feed us a sumptuous Moroccan meal!
