England 6 May: Liverpool

Today the World Harmony Run visited schools in the City of Liverpool and the first visit was just round the corner from where Mark lived as a student in his University of Liverpool days.

Kensington Primary School in the careful hands of Kitty Davis.

First thing in the morning and the children are full of enthusiam.

Just half a mile away is Broadgreen Primary.

Another class of attentive students who absorbed everything that presenter Mark said. Many thanks to Joe Morris.

The weather this morning is ideal for outdoor activities like holding the Harmony Torch.

Running is such a natural thing for children to do - a universal feature of playgrounds all over the world.

At St. Anne Stanley Junior and Infant School, the whole school piled into the gym.

Rapt attention...

Philosophy for 6-year-olds.

Making a wish for Harmony.

Lunch for the runners, between schools.

Our fourth school was New Park Primary, where the brilliant sunshine continued unabated.

Sean (above centre) impresses everyone with his unbounded enthusiasm.

We are all just friends.

Hands on experience.

Runners and Harmony-makers of the future.

Happy teachers...

Harmony begins with me.

The fifth school we visited today was Faith Primary School, with Sister Moira Meoghan kindly welcoming the Harmony runners to her school.

Our final visit was to one of the best schools in Liverpool, which shows great appreciation for the Harmony Run Team every year.

At Our Lady Immaculate School, Headmistress Mrs Brodie receives the Torch Bearer Award and a certificate of appreciation, which she accepts on behalf of the school.

New style Cathedral in Liverpool.

Fran, taking a break from Run and Become in Cardiff and finding the road and the English countryside to her liking.

Kamilla, a former 800-metre champion, now taking on the longer challenges.
