England 15 March: Bristol - Swindon

We started the day visiting the Matthew: the ship is a replica of the original Matthew, which sailed to America in 1497, just 5 years after Columbus...

...the crew welcomed us on board and we got a boatride around the historic harbour of Bristol...

...one of our photographers was late and had to board the ship in an unusual way...

The skipper gave us a good historic and technical overview  of the Matthew...

...that's not our boat....

...Bristol's harbour...

...the skipper prepared the cannon to be fired!

...lit by the torch...

...and WHUM, a real loud bang which probably woke up half of Bristol!

After the great morning start we went to the first school:

the Hannah More Primary School...

...the children felt harmony in their hearts...

...and cheerfully passed the torch....

...a final Run ended the meeting!

The next was Longwell Green School...

...harmony begins with each of us!

...and can be found everywhere...

Running is really good fun!

Team photo with the head teacher...

...one of the many white horses in the ancient, historic countryside...

...and Silbury burial hill....

We reached the famous Avebury stone circle....

...we run around the stone ring....

...our awesome British runners heroically covered a great  distance...

Finally we reached Swindon, and were interviewed live by BBC Radio Bristol.

A big "Thank You" to the De Vere Hotel for supporting the WHR! The  hotel Spa was the perfect place to finish the long day on the road!
