Macedonia-Greece 4 May: Bitola - Ptolemaida

Another country bids us farewell! After a good night's rest in a hotel high in the mountains we started our running day in Bitola. The police escorted us out of the city and soon we reached the border to Greece.

Being only for two days in Macedonia, the country blended perfectly into one of the main experiences everybody on the team is going through: to change from one country to the next. Another border, another culture, another language. The countries might be different but good people are in all of them! It's great to see how the Run connects people. There are definitely more things that unite us than divide us...

Macedonia is a real World Harmony Run - country! All our local organisers are enthusiastic and do a great job! As our international team is divided in two groups right now, the second team will arrive in Macedonia in 10 days. Definitely they will have a good time!

During the next 70 km the weather finally turned sunny! After mainly running through a vast and serene countryside we finished this day just before Ptolemaida. Later we drove to Thessaloniki, where local events will take place tomorrow...

Mark, our new runner from the Netherlands, awaited us sitting in front of the hotel. To our big surprise he was a few hours early. Now our team is complete and we are ready for the next adventure: Greece.

Distance: 85km
