We got off to great start today with a short run through the streets of Belfast to the 174 Trust.

There we met teenagers who were participating in the Pathways project.

Like most people we meet everyone was grateful for the opportunity to hold the torch. Before we left we shared a few funny stories with which brought laughter all round.

The next stop was to Lagan College where a bright, cheerful bunch of students were very happy to hear all about the run.

Big smiles appeared on their faces as they held the torch.

With great enthusiasm Deputy Principal Desie McNally received a certificate of appreciation from the team.

The team then enjoyed a pleasant reception with Lord Mayor of Belfast Tom Hartley.

He very kindly arranged lunch for a hungry group of runners.

Svetlana was very happy to meet Mayor Hartley.

Today’s running was a blast…of wind that is!

We ran the along stunning coastline of Antrim where strong headwinds made for tough running.

However, the beauty made up for the challenge.

The coastline has amazing cliffs, valleys and beaches that enchanted us as we ran.

In Carnlough we were very warmly received by St. John’s Primary school. The children were so attentive and listened with great interest.

The children formed a large circle all around the assembly hall and each child had the opportunity to hold the torch.

After a action packed day we where delighted to arrive at Corrymeela Peace and Reconciliation Centre just outside Ballycastle.

There we met our hosts Sonja and Christoph who so kindly offered us our evening's accommodation as well as a delicious meal. We finished this wonderful day with a few minutes of spiritual reflection led by Christoph who is a member of the Jesuit Order.
