A Visit to Asker

After Oslo, onto Asker
After a thrilling welcome in Oslo, the team immediately left for neighboring Asker.

A beautiful 22 km run lay ahead of the runners as they left the outskirts of Oslo.

Running through lush forest with leaves bursting with the freshness of spring, the team experienced the deep peace pervading the Norwegian countryside.

Met by the very kind hearted Vice Mayor of Asker, Ingvild Tautra Vevatne, the runners were greeted with true Norwegian hospitality.

Indeed the freshness of the people in Asker buoyed the spirits of the team even further as they continued en route to western Norway.

The Town of Asker

Following their incredible experience at the welcoming ceremony in Oslo, the team headed to Asker, where they were met by the Vice-Mayor, Ingvild Tautra Vevatne, who welcomed the runners to the Asker City Hall.

There they shared a wonderful moment of shared inspiration as she addressed the group with words chosen as much for their eloquence as for their inspirational value.

She invited the runners to take a quick jog of her lovely town in which now resides the Crown Prince of Norway. Explaining her philosophy of experiencing peace through the beauty of nature, she exhorted the runners to drink deep of Asker's well of peace by touring the lush forests and farmland.

The runners left emboldened and full of the fragrance of the friendship and open-heartedness that pervades Norway.
