28. Steve Bush

October 5

Steve has been with Trees for Canterbury (TFC) since April fools Day, 1992. He was unemployed at the time and was meant to be at TFC for just six months, but it turned out to be a long six months. Steve says jokingly, " I hope that the next six will be as fulfilling."

His time at TFC has introduced him not only to the importance of the environment but also to the importance of the community and the many varied people who are part of it.

His role at TFC is to co-ordinate the many volunteers and workers it has on a daily basis. "They are the real people behind Trees for Canterbury and without their supreme efforts we would not exist. I enjoy the efforts they put in as part of the community," he says.

He considers that the most precious thing that he can do is, "To go through life without intentially harming mentally or physically another human being."
