Poland 19 July: Ostrzeszow - Lodz

We started our run this morning from our holiday camp accommodation in Ostrzeszow; as we had a tight schedule, we had to start early in the morning, but even then the sun had already started to blaze down.

As we reached Blaszki, the mayor and children were waiting for us at a park in the city centre. Refreshments and snacks were served for hundreds of people and finally the kids and the mayor joined in the run...

Vladimir from Moldova doing his last kilometres...

In Sieradz two very good local runners met us at the city entrance and led us into the city. The deputy mayor welcomed us and lots of media and TV were waiting for us.

We also signed the guest book of the city and the mayor took a few steps for harmony!

In Zdunska Wola kids joined in spontaneously as we approached the meeting place.

The mayor received the torch and the local soccer team plus more kids brought us to the next unique meeting place: the local swimming pool!

We met with the manager and enjoyed a swim, well-deserved as the heat reached approximately 40 Celsius.

Refreshed, we finished the day running to Lodz, our today's destination.
