San Marino 12 September: San Marino

..from Rimini we went into the country side and approache San Marin, the oldest Republic in the world!

San Marino is a tiny country which could remain independant even during Garibaldi's unification of Italy and even during Napoleon's occupation...

..we met our old runner friends from the G.P. San Marino - for many years now we conquer together the rock...

...San Marino is residing high above the Adriatic Sea...

..the goal is won!

..a small meeting with local kids ended the day...

Thanks for the great Run!

...the sun set and was rising again...

What a view! On the horizon we could even see Ravenna - 90 km from San Marino!

..we went to the Piazza de Liberta'...

...the sport representative and the UNESCO ambassador from San Marino welcomed us!

...nice gifts...

...and the traditional group photo in front of the old castle...

Good bye San Marino - see you again soon!

Bienvenuto in Italia! Back on the road and heading for Firenze...
