Switzerland 23 September: Biasca - Disentis

We left Biasca and started into the "Valle di Blenio" in Ticino...

...today we crossed the Lukmanier Pass (1.914 m). Every day another mountain - we felt like on the "Tour de Suisse"...

...it was coudy, but no rain. A great start...

...slowly we made our way up...

..Near the top we reached a beautiful hiking track, which was about to be inaugurated as a "Path of Peace" that day...

...there we met with Edgardo Mannhart, who is the director for tourism of the region Blenio...

...after this short "pre-meeting" we reached the pass!

...on the top of the pass the main dedication plaque is located with information about the "Path of Peace".

Now the official part took place: we introduced the World Harmony Run and our international team and handed the torch to Mr. Mannhart.

...Edgardo Mannhart received the Torch Bearer Award for his longterm support of many peace projects...

...life-music made the World Harmony Run song go more smoothly...

...a great lunch...

...and an indoor-arrangement for peace!

...The Lukmanier Pass has been inaugurated already in 1997 as a "Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossom" and joined many other landmarks and places worldwide as monuments of Peace!

..after the lunch the run continued and the girls tried a shortcut...

...the shortcut turn out to be a detour...

...luckily they made it...

..new friends...

...punctually as we started the descent the sun came out and greeted the runners!

...the Romansch part of Switzerland presented itself with most beautiful nature...

...we reached Disentis. The famous Benedictine abbey is visible from far away...

That's a welcome! Swiss Alphorn - tunes, played by Irene Huonder!

...Mayor Dr. Domeni Columberg received the torch...

...some of us tried to play the Alphorn..

Thank you Disentis for the warm welcome!
