USA 14 May: La Monte, MO to Kansas City, KS

Clear, sunny and freezing! Full running gear required for Bangshidhar, our Maui Boy.

We all would like to thank all the mothers who make this harmony run an effective and fruitful journey. After all, without mothers we would not be here and neither would the children that we meet. A mother’s concern and affection for her children is nothing but harmony itself. The power of love and harmony demonstrated by motherhood all over the world has a universal appeal and importance no matter where you go. We are mindful of the role that mothers play everywhere and the sacrifice that they offer everyday in their role as mothers through most of their life. With that in mind we offer these experiences today with the idea that all the great things that happen to us and all the wonderful people we meet have their mothers’ love and harmony to share.

We had a long day of running from Sedalia, Missouri through Kansas City to Lawrence, Kansas, with so many hills and wind to accompany us on our path, and still a bit chilly at around 55 F with overcast skies. Kansas, the tornado country, may be flat, but not Kansas City.

The Kansas City media Interviews our international team.

We met us with some media from NBC news and the local newspaper to receive us in Kansas City, Kansas and bring our goals of world harmony to the greater public. They were set to air us on the news that evening with our Italian ‘ambassador’, Francesco, being interviewed.

The next stop was in Kansas City, Kansas at the Providence YMCA where we had a meeting with a few enthusiastic people who were working out there.

Two German sisters, Kelly and Anja, celebrate their new friendship in the middle of America.

Kelly Schmiedt, the aquatics director and Cheryl, the fitness director, were there to happily receive us and share some time with us along with a few of the members of the club.

Kelly and Cheryl , Directors at the Kansas City YMCA, enthusiastically carried the torch for a lap on the court.

The kids ran around the gym with the Torch and we gave introductions all around. Antonio, a football, basketball, and sometimes track athlete and his little cousin Ca’Koya were delighted to share the torch.

They ran around the gym together, listened to our introductions, sang with us and then ran outside around the YMCA all the while holding the torch together. True oneness. Thank you all at the YMCA for sharing a moment with us!

The team goes into ecstacy while celebrating Mother’s Day with a succulent Feast at the exquisite Indian Palace .

For dinner we were received by the India Palace for super tasty Indian morsels—lassi, chai, coconut soups, and delicious curries. The owner, Balhar Choong, from Goa India, was so kind to give us complimentary meals and we are very grateful for the kind gesture of oneness.

Jerry, the manager, and Ngwang Sherpa from Nepal, our very friendly and efficient waiter, also made our experience there a very pleasant and memorable one. The restaurant was situated in a nice part of Lawrence, a college town, with a very comfortable and progressive feeling. Go Jayhawks.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Holidome, in Lawrence, Kansas: a very nice hotel with a pool and a hot tub which we fully enjoyed. We are grateful to Brandon White and Greg Ebben for offering such wonderful accommodations for us.

Morning Sun

The morning sun rises up, to bless my hopeful heart.

Deep in my soul I know now is the time, to play my destined part.

To make a difference in this world with love, a-la-carte.

Free of all those things and strings that tend, to tear it apart.

The morning bird sings his sweet song, to lift my spirit high.

Only God knows how long we have to give, before we die.

Waste no time to make this life shine, open the inner eye.

Then we see the golden sky within, where we can fly.

The morning rainbow fills my heart, with the colors of my Lord.

Its’ shining beauty leaves me speechless, in Silence, without a word.

Deep inside I hear a song that I, long ago heard.

The road to perfection lies ahead of us, always forward!
