Video of the first month in USA

Already for a few days the desert and its silent secrecy are side by side with us.

One can only love the desert for its vastness, silence and endlessness or be lost in these same qualities with the knowledge not to be able to change things anyway.

If love is one’s choice then there is no end to the feeling of depth one `drinks` while looking at the never ending hills and mountains covered with sand, dry grass and bushes.

They seem to be like a gigantic picture drawn on the horizon. Always far away, but present all the time.

Maybe we weren't the only ones causing th lizards to scurry.

Here and there a little lizard crosses the street very fast and hectically, not used to somebody running by and disturbing its life out here.

The heat, yes the heat! It is your friend as long as you are able to look at the beauty that surrounds you. Once one starts losing the appreciation of nature and thinks about the heat, it can make the rest of the miles become long, very long. Endless!!

Since there is always a happy end to a lonely desert runner’s life, we knew that we would reach our destination and get some rest and a good night’s sleep. We are grateful to the management at the Eureka Hotel in Mesquite who kindly accommodated us here in Nevada`s desert.

We want to offer a very special thanks to the Southwest Diner in Boulder City.

Yesterday we were warmly greeted by Lisa, our waitress, and treated to a sumptuous dinner by the Manager, Dana, and the owner, Cindy. They were so kind as to also offer us breakfast and lunch for today. This was a most generous offering and we are so grateful to them all. The diner was very comfortable and cozy and the delicious food was a good old-fashioned American style. We enjoyed fantastic sandwiches, salads, omelettes, burritos, home-made baked desserts and ice cream. Many people in the diner were talking to us and appreciating our work for world harmony. The feeling here was as if we were home and a part of the family. Boulder City is very friendly and we all truly enjoyed our experiences here.

Running through Mesquite, Nevada, in the 110 F or 43C intense heat, we stopped at a Jamba Juice outlet to cool down. Jamba means ‘celebration’ and indeed it was a great celebration of friendship and kindness as Georgia, the owner, and Katea, her helper, offered us fantastic fresh juices to help us recover from a very intense day of running. Their generosity and understanding will go a long way down the road of harmony and we wish them well always.
