A couple of weeks ago I visited some friends who are doing something truely remarkable, running a race which goes for 3100 miles.

They are running around a city block, passing a school, playing fields and basketball courts. Each lap is about half a mile so they have to do it more than 6000 times!!

Anyway I wanted to give them some encouragement and the best idea I could come up with was to give them World Harmony Run T-shirts, after all if the 11 runners in the race finish they will have completed a total of 34,000 miles -- more than all World Harmony Run miles this year -- that's quite something.

So Suprabha Beckjord, the only women running the race, and a veteran of 11 such races, arranged for all the runners to wear their World Harmony Run T-shirts today on day 40 of the race.

Consequently I felt compelled to drag myself out of bed and over to the race in time for the daily kickoff at 6.00 am. Each day the runners begin at 6.00 and have to stop at 12.00 midnight.

Here are some photos I took during my few hours there and here is a link to the with more photos.

I highly recomend you take a look at the race website as it is updated daily and they have a great gallery of photos which is updated daily as well.

Thanks and keep track of these hero runners.
