USA 1 May: Fort Walton Beach, FL - Fort Walton Beach, FL

A true highlight of our journey, Mike Anderson, Mayor of Fort Walton, gave us the key to his beautiful city. His enthusiastic support for our efforts both touched and inspired us.

The Mayor cheerfully and dynamically ran with the torch along with the school children from Elliot Point Elementary. The children were so happy to see the Mayor and to receive the World Harmony Runners at their wonderful school.

Despite the bright sun the students really enjoyed listening to Vilupti.

The time, effort, and creativity invested by the students was fantastic. They knew so much about the history and scope of the run which brought joy to all the runners.

No matter where we go, the shining faces of children attract the torch and the torch attracts shining faces. Read more about our visit to Elliot Point Elementary.

The Holiday Inn in Fort Walton was gracious in their support of the run and we are extremely grateful to them.

Jaden Thompson of San Gelato Cafe took time afterhours to treat us to their delicious gelato. This is the third year in a row they have shared the joy of ice cream with us and we always look forward to seeing them.

Dr. Ken Whidden of Emerald Coast Chiropractic generously donated his time and services to three of our team members in order to keep their bodies running smoothly on our journey throughout America. His spirit of self offering was exceptional.
