USA 7 May: Hillhouse, MS - Memphis, TN

Visiting our good friends in Wildcat Country at Clarksdale High School in Mississippi is always a memorable experience.

Mayor Espy (right) is a long time supporter of the run and we were happy to see him once again. Here he is holding the torch with the Vice Principal and student body President.

The choir performed with tremendous soulfulness.

They were backed by a fantastic group of musicians.

The torch was passed...

from one senior...

to another...

and another...

and, why not, another.

Memphis, Tennesse was today's final destination, and how can you run through this city without visiting the home of the King, Elvis Presley.

The Best Western in Memphis was our sponsor for the evening. They really showed their hearts' oneness with our run and we had a very nice stay with them and we thank them very much.

This is Clarksdale's famous mechanic who goes by the name of Corndog. He is a great guy who we encountered in the parking lot of Auto Zone while we were buying a new starter for Greeny (one of our vans). He cheerfully installed the starter at a price far less than market value, and because we did not have to waste time searching for a mechanic, everyone made the ceremony. Thanks CORNDOG!!!

Cozymel's treated us to a great dinner.  The manager, Lance is a true friend of the run.
