USA 8 May: Memphis, TN - Trimble, TN

Unbelievable excitement and joy was all we found at Maria Montessori School in Memphis, Tennessee.

Maria Cole, the Headmistress was the perfect combination of youthful enthusiasm and loving compassion towards our team and her students.

Eagerness to learn and participate was ever present.

The children learn the beautiful art of hula dancing, skillfuly taught by our native Hawaiian, Bansidhar.

Afterwards, all the children participated in a run around the school grounds.

Ms. Alicia Carter from Congressman Cohen's office presented a proclamation from the city of Memphis.

Amy Payne, Director of Fitness and Wellness Center in Covington, TN and her friend Ashleigh Kelley (holding torch) joined us for a few miles.

Dyersburg Intermediate School welcomed us back once again to speak to the 3rd and 4th grade.

Principal Newbill is a true friend of the run and we always look forward to visiting her school.

Everyone wanted to feel the magic.

A few selected students led us out of the school, and back to our running route. All the children cheered as we ran by.

Mayor John Holden of Dyersburg came out to encourage and support the run.

Reporter from the State Gazette in Dyersburg, Vanessa Cain, not only interviewed us, but also showered us with her southern sweetness.

Mayor Jon Pavletic made sure that he had a chance to hold the torch as it passed through his beautiful town of Ripley.

Ever smiling, Vajra cooks up a delicious stir-fry for dinner.

The entire staff at the Country Hearth Inn was so supportive and enthusiastic about being able to help the team with lodging for the night. We are very grateful to them.

Eyes of angels forever remind us of our goal.
