USA 14 May: La Monte, MO - Kansas City, KS

Along the way, we are always touched and inspired by the beautiful families that are so excited to meet us.

Our first ceremony today was at the Boys and Girls Club of Kansas City. They were very attentive and intelligent.

The "young staff" seen in black vests helped us hold the banner and flags. They were extremely efficient and professional and we really appreciated having their help.

My good friend Christopher was chosen to receive the Certificate of Appreciation. He is a very special young man.

The staff was extremely welcoming and many of them commented afterwards how inspired they were by the Run. Some even said that they are going to get in shape so they can run with us next time.

The second ceremony was at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence.

Eyes of love and a heart of gold.

The staff was cheerful and extremely kind to us.

The kids ran with the torch...

and envisioned a bright...

and promising future.

Our visit with them was lots of fun. Everybody raised their hands in joy, or to shield the sun from their eyes.

The Spring Hill Suites Marriot in Lawrence was our home for the evening. It is a sensational hotel and we loved our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, and we are very grateful for their generosity.
