USA 6 June: San Diego, CA - Long Beach, CA

This morning we were delighted to have Joaquim Cruz, Olympic Gold medalist and former world record holder, join us as we carried the torch into the Integral Elementary School.

Integral Education is a philosophy and practice of education for the whole child: body, emotions, mind, soul, and spirit. Here the students greet the runners.

Our San Diego guest presenter Papaha Gosline shows our route and where we began.

The students led the team in a yoga session.

Three outstanding students who received the Torch-Bearer award for outstanding service to their school and community.

One of our team members who is all heart.

The yoga instructor.

Offering a certificate of appreciation to this unique and very special school.

Students, parents and teachers join together to share the torch.

Rabinath, our team member from the Netherlands, was delighted to meet this family from the Netherlands.

We were delighted to have Teekhnata join us for a few miles - she is a veteran of two entire 50 state torch relays and an accomplished ultra-marathon runner and walker. Thanks for lending us your husband - Atulya - for two and a half months of the run this year.

Mike and Jennifer Cullen joined Misa running through Los Angeles.

Ron Hetherington joined us for five miles along the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

In Del Mar we stopped in on the great baseball player Steve Finley, who very kindly carried the torch with his family as we passed by.

We were delighted to see our very dear new-found friends, Grand-Dad and Grand Ma Meadows (Jitavrata's grand parents), who very generously took us out to a delicious dinner. We first met them in Baltimore and now again in Los Angeles.
