USA 9 June: Santa Maria, CA - San Simeon, CA

Our day began at Montessori Children's School in San Luis Obispo. The children were very excited to see us and patiently awaited our arrival. Then there were high fives all around.

Atulya led the ceremony and to the delight of the chiildren explained what the Harmony Run was all about.

The children were then given the challenge to guess which countries the runners were from. No one ever gets Homagni's country wrong. He is a master mimic and his kangaroo is uncanny!

We passed the torch around as the runners fielded questions.

You just can't help being filled with joy after spending time with such beautiful souls. The purity of the children floods your entire being.

Rabinath from Holland was celebrating his birthday today. The children sangs 3 birthday songs for him - one of them in French! He was overwhelmed.

He decided to celebrate his birthday by running 17 miles!

Here, he shares his inspiration about the run with the Teen Center in Cambria, CA. Brent (Buster) Mark was the facilitator for the center. He very enthusiastically greeted us along with about a half dozen young men.

This guy wants to run with us next time. We hope to set up a small relay through town on our next visit.

Our run continued up the gorgeous CA coast. Salil is always right at home next to the ocean.

Vajra - at age 66 - ran with vigor and joy along this awe inspiring route.

At our next ceremony the audience seemed a little bored.

But evidently, Salil said something controversial, because he created a real ruckus amongst some members.

He got an earful from all sides. I think he said something a little fishy.

Rabinath ended his run with a soulful moment.

And we celebrated his soul's day with the traditional peach pie and vegan key lime pie.

The girls worked diligently preparing our next day.
