USA 15 June: Salt Point State Park, CA - Westport, CA

Our morning began in our beautiful campsite in Anchor Bay.

Bernard and Dale Roberts were so very kind to offer us five campsites at Anchor Bay Campground. We had all the amenities of a hotel, plus a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean.

The views continued to be spectacular along the route. You just forget that you're even running because you're in such awe of Mother Nature.

Jayashri blessed us with 6 miles this morning. We were so happy and grateful to have her come out on the run. She worked very hard to prepare events in San Francisco. Nothing like some miles with the torch to let go of any stress and refuel on joy. Thank you so much Jayashri!!!

Suchatula was also able to join us for the day. Logging 8 miles was a breeze for her. It was her first time on the road with the torch. We all hope that it is not her last. Can you say 2010 Suchatula?!?!

Many folks stopped us along the way to ask questions and hold the torch.

We had 2 triathletes - CJ and Nancy - run with us for over 4 miles. Next time they want to do 20! We love to have runners join us. Thank you.

We had a very nice greeting in Mendocino at the Mendocino Community Center. Beth Pine was a great host and even joined us in Fort Bragg.

Melissa from Fog Dodgers - a local running club - escorted the torch into the Fort Bragg Recreation and Community Center...

where we met Mayor Doug Hammerstrom and his wife...

and Michelle Regala who organized the meeting. She filled us in on all the "hot spots" of Fort Bragg.

This gentleman is rapper travelling around the country with an 18 pound typewriter!

Pam Amante enthusiastically hosted us at the Beachcomber Motel. The view was stunning from each room. "At any minute I expected the tide to roll right into the room. Just fabulous!" said Atulya Lee Berube.

The Surf Motel also very graciously offered us a room for the evening. Everyone had a bed! Everyone kicked a goal!
