Today was an unusual day on the Run. We were priviledged to drive off route to visit with some very special friends of the Run. Mahashamrat Bill Pearl and Bhavatarini Judy Pearl of weightlifting world fame were to be our hosts for the day. They treated us to wonderful lunch.

An afternoon of stories and tours of their gym, their car collection and their antique bicycle collection.

Mahashamrat restores all the cars and bicycles himself. He is true a master craftsman. We all marvelled at his patience and expertise. The years of weightlifting 6 days a week at 4 am have obviously paid off in many more ways than one.

For all their years of inspiring and supporting Sri Chinmoy - and countless others - in his weightlifting and feats of strength, we presented Mahashamrat and Bhavatarini with the Torch Bearer's Award.

They were truly the ultimate hosts.

We even got a mini workout in!

Sunanda made a new friend in Ginger - their dog.

Yuyudhan visited the Minnesota born legend - Paul Bunyan.

The Pacific Reef Restort offered the team plush rooms right on the ocean in Gold Beach. Thank you for spoiling us. Wish we could have stayed longer.
