USA 20 June: Florence, OR - Lincoln City, OR

This was our first ceremony for the day - an unexpected representative from one of the towns along the Oregon coast.

It was a foggy morning making our way up the coast to Lincoln City, Oregon.

Bansidhar loved the morning chill and ran with a smile the whole way.

Natabara got out with us this morning and managed to run a little under 2 miles on a recovering knee. He ran with such joy!

He and his mom Joyce have been taking care of us for the last couple of days.

Atulya finds his way through a tunnel...

and into the arms of a friendly pirate.

Rabinath felt his kinship with one of the world's earliest explorers.

Michael Gonzalez of the Summer Activities Program in Newport, OR arranged for us to come and visit the children enrolled in the summer program.

Joe carried in the torch through a crowd of very excited children.

He and his dad - Giribar - have been knocking out the miles for us. What a nice relief for the team. Joe is going to stay with us until Seattle!

The children take a quiet moment to feel harmony and peace in their hearts.

Atulya led the children in a short run with the torch around the parking lot.

Elizabeth Chapman from the News Times in Newport came out to cover the story. She was really moved by the message of the run and did an in depth interview. She went way above and beyond and arranged 3 large pizzas for the team from

Panini, her friend's bakery. They were fantastic! Thank you Panini and super thank you to Elizabeth!!!

Nature continues to dazzles us. See the gallery for more beautiful nature and children photos.
