USA 5 July: Yellowstone National Park, Canyon Village, WY - Billings, MT

Today we had a day off in Yellowstone National Park. The first national park in the United States.

Old Faithful showing her glory.

The girls enjoying the steaming geyser basins.

The Yellowstone area is nothing other than one large volcano lying in a caldera 30 by 40 miles wide. It is one of the largest and most active volcanoes around. Thus, all the interesting thermal activity.

Colonies of colorful bacteria populate the pools.

Hydrothermal pools captivate and enchant the eye.

Some bears were spotted.

Bears can climb trees too!

Look! I see an Osprey.

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

Upper Falls on the Yellowstone River.

We hiked to the bottom of the canyon.

Moo? No. Snort!

I love Yellowstone because it makes me feel harmonious with nature.

A peaceful Elk relaxing in the shade.

Winter wonderland in July.

Blazej did not suffer from altitude sickness, he was just too happy.

Parichayaka seems to have lost his shoes in the snow during his trek to the summit. Now, where is the summit?

Magnificent.

Grooves in the green.

I wish you were here Mom. What a beautiful day in this superb National Park.
