USA 10 August: Hillsboro, NH - Hollis Center, ME

Almost everyday part of the team makes lunch for the rest of the team. Looks like Mediterranian today! Dinner was going to be something even better.

We had been invited by Martin “Marty” Joyce – President of Italian Heritage Ctr, for an excellent "Black Tie" italian dinner.

Four mayors from neighboring towns and cities - Saco Mayor Roland Michaud, Biddeford Mayor Joanne Twomey, So. Portland Mayor James Soule and Portland Mayor Edward Suslovic (from left to right)- joined us. It was a very special occassion indeed!

Giovanna Ricci “Jo Jo” our long time host and harmony enthusiast was honored with the Torch Bearer's Award. She has had a very self-giving life and is dearly loved by all. We were honored to present the award to her.

During the dinner each mayor in turn spoke about the importance of harmony in their community and expressed thier gratitude for our efforts.

Each runner also had a few minutes to share their experiences of and feelings about the run. It was truly a heartfelt mutual offering.

Local television came out to cover us and Portland Mayor Edward Suslovic was asked about his views on world harmony.

Thank you Cammy for arranging this very wonderful dinner.

Thank you so much to our local coordinator and good friend Polly Goodyear. She really brought together a beautiful event.
