USA 27 April: Lake Mary, FL

To celebrate the exact day of the 25th anniversary of the World Harmony Run we visited the art studio of Lake Mary School of Art.

I met my good friend Stella Tagliavore, owner and Art Director, who kindly allowed me to talk to her students about the message of the run, which unites individuals from all faiths and cultures to bring the awareness that harmony begins within each of us and by accepting and respecting one onether we can all live in harmony.

I invited the students to try to do a good deed everyday, from helping at home or neighbor we all can do something, big or small to make a difference in somebody else’s life.

I told the art students that Sri Chinmoy not only through sports he could bring the awareness of spreading peace to each individual by passing a torch but also through his music, poetry, lectures and art. I brought one of Sri Chinmoy’s acrylic painting to show the students about his art work. He called it Jharna-Kala or Fountain Art. Where from his heart, he brings a positive message to mankind to inspire us to become better citizens of this world. His paintings have been exhibited in museums around the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England, UNESCO in France, Museum of Modern History in Russia, Museum of Modern Art in St. Petersburgh, Russia, Palais Des Rois de Majorque in Perpignon, France among many others.

Art Director Stella Tagliavore has been such an inspiration for her students. Besides teaching them the arts, she also teaches them about honor, respect, integrity and friendship. She volunteers every year for the Homeless of Central Florida and for her great inspiration to our community, she received the Torch Bearer Award Medal which was given by Lake Mary City Commissioner Jo Ann Lucarelli a few days before during a ceremony at the Art Studio. Congratulations Mrs. Tagliavore!

I would like to thank the students, parents, staff and Mrs. Tagliavore for having me at the Art Studio and share with them about the World Harmony Run in this special Day of 25th years of running for Peace and Harmony.
