USA 24 April: Winston-Salem, NC - Charlotte, NC

During our early morning run our team had the opportunity

to pose with this Harmony race car. Unfortunately we could

not adopt it as one of our own Harmony Run vehicles.

In the morning Tom and Arpan run into the China Grove

Middle School Ceremony where over two hundred children

and teachers were enthusiastically waiting for the arrival of the Torch.

Atulya introduced the run to the children...

The runners take turns getting the children to guess where

they are from individually...

As part of our program we present to the children, we act

out short skits to demonstrate harmonious or disharmonious

behavior. Can you guess which kind this is?

After singing our theme song written by Sri Chinmoy, the

Founder of the Run, the children offered us one of their

songs with the help of one of their talented teachers.

The children all tried to feel the harmony and peace from

the heart as this moment of silence demonstates.

Afterwards, the children and teachers had the opporunity

to touch or hold the torch and offer a smile and a wish for

a peaceful and harmonious world.

We are very grateful to Principal Linda Johnson and her staff of

teachers who organized the children to receive us and offer

their efforts for a more harmonious world.

After the ceremony one girls' team had fun trying to wash

our home away from home we call RV (Recreational Vehicle).

We are thrilled when locals along our route take the time

to stop and hold the torch offering us their goodwill.

In the afternoon the Charlotte Boys and Girls Club ran with

us to a nearby playground past our newly washed RV.

The kids loved our program, especially our dramatic skits.

Atulya was swamped with enthusiastic children wanting to

hold the torch.

The children all had the opportunity to hold the torch and

make a wish for peace. Their smiles say it all.

We are very grateful to David Mc Queen for coming with

the children and receiving us in such a kind and

enthusiastic way.

We also wish to than Donato's Pizza for their delicious

donations to our evening meal.

The Motel 6 Charlotte Carowinds very kindly sponsored our rooms for the evening. We really enjoyed our the stay.
