We said goodbye to General Manager Diana Reed after two rejuvenating nights at the Shrine Hotel in Bellville, IL. 

A day before the recognized anniversary of the famed Lewis and Clark expedition, they start on May 14, we began our sojourn into America's vast west.

Travelling along the Lewis and Clark trail we reflected on all the cities and towns that have been built upon the foundation those intrepid explorers laid. We also thought a little bit about salads and hot wings :-).

Arpan, training for an upcoming 3100 mile race (yes that's 3100) ran 21 miles to complete 100 miles for the week.

Salil enjoys the afternoon light.

Tom meets a local farmer who was only too happy to hold the torch.

We are always very grateful for people who stop us and have a chat. These spontaneous meetings enrich our days.

We'll be on historic Hwy 66  on and off for the next three weeks as we make our way west to San Diego, CA.
