USA 14 May: Potts, MO - La Monte, MO

Our first meeting was at the Lewis and Clark Middle School.

The students were very excited and asked lots of interesting questions.

Everyone had a chance to hold the torch.

Special thanks to Principal Sherri Thomas for arranging our visit.

On the way out of town Tom and I called in at the Capitol building which we had heard great things about.

President Jefferson greets all the visitors to the Capitol building.

Tom was in awe of the equisite frescos which adorn the multi-layered capitol dome.

We stopped in at the offices of Missouri State Representatives Kent Hampton (left) and Todd Richardson (right), Todd even saw us out running on his way to work.

Stainglass skylight.

On the way to meet the team we stopped in at Shirks Country Market where they bake some of the best Banana Bread in the world.

James Cramer and his kids from the Sedalia Boys and Girls Club gave us a wonderful reception.

They were very thoughtful when trying to guess our countries.

Eager to learn the actions that go with our song.

Lots of smiles as we did our skits which demonstrate either harmony or disharmony.

In one of the skits Jana is very upset when she realizes she has forgotten her lunch box.

But she is all smiles again after Katya and Ratuja very kindly offer to share their lunch with her.

Arpan was very concerned when he got an injury.

Fortunately Tom and Matthias were on hand to help him out.

Priyala reflects on what peace means to her.

We tried our best to feel harmony in our hearts.

Well almost all of us.

Katya makes a new friend who is also from the Ukraine.

Dzmitry made sure everyone touched the torch.

Then we went for a run!

Jose and his team at the el Espolon very generously provided us with a delicious and filling meal.
