USA 19 May: Bristow, OK - Union City,OK

We are very grateful to Pat Pickering for offering us complementary accommodation at this wonderful Super 8 of Supulpa last night as she has done in years past as well. This kind of oneness is a true demonstration of peace and understanding which are both important contributions to World Harmony.

Six of our team members were fortunate enough to accept an invitation by State Senator Brian Bingman from Sapulpa to have breakfast at a place called 'Steak and Eggs.' We are very grateful to him for this wonderful gesture of friendship and oneness as he has done in past years.

Matthias and I had to leave very early to to make it to Oklahoma City as we were invited to run in the 'Limbs for Life 5k Blaze Through the Zoo' with the Torch. There were over 400 people running in the race which made a circuitous loop through the beautiful Oklahoma City Zoo.

It was only after everyone reached their goal that we were able to share the Torch with many enthusiastic runners.

The 'Limbs For Life' Foundation offers assistance to those in need of prosthetics, or artificial limbs.

Runners of all ages competed in this fun filled race. This young man crossed the finish line first and proudly holds the World Harmony Run Torch along with his trophy.

Our next stop was at the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

Many tourists have been coming here since April 1995 to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in this most unfortunate incident. The Peace Run passed through here in May 1995 to help alleviate some of the sorrow caused by this event. Bringing some peace and harmony to troubled situations is always very rewarding for us.

Matthias runs past one of the walls of the Memorial filled with memorabilia for the fallen heroes.

Many visitors showed an interest in sharing in the goodwill that the Harmony Run Peace Torch represents, including the Park Ranger at the Memorial.

As we made our way through the city we passed some interesting things such as this wall of hanging herb gardens.

A few more interested OKy's wanted to share the Torch with us as well.

Matthias enjoys the 'grasslands' which he will be seeing plenty of soon.

This is the first gorilla that has held our torch. He must have followed us from the Zoo this morning.

This brother and sister team just finished their 'cross-country' racing season and are taking some time off so they could not accept the invitation to run 'across THE country'.

Happy young faces coming out to share the torch.

Many interested and interesting people stop to share the goodwill and harmony that the torch represents. These 'Hawaiins' are actually from Mustang, Oklahoma.

Heading west towards Texas we begin to see the human population starting to thin out and the pasture animals such as cows and horses showing an interest in what we are doing as we run past.

We are very grateful to the Gopuram Indian Restaurant for the delicious food they provided to the men's team this evening.

The women's team was treated to some incredible raw food delights at the natural foods restaurant in Oklahoma City called 'Matthew Kenney' named after the superb raw foods chef by that name.

Even the Tiramisu was raw, but delicious nonetheless.

The staff at Matthew Kenney treated them well and even shared the torch here.

The women's team had wonderful rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn. Getting complementary accommodations at night sure helps with our budget and demonstates the goodwill and friendship that we are trying to promote..
