USA 25 May: Clines Corners, NM - Espanola, NM

Homagni from Australia carries the torch into Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico. If you are wondering why the air is so smoky, it is because of a massive forest fire in the nearby Gila National Forest.

Too slow, Homagni!

Daulot shares a contemplative moment with the torch

The runners were greeted at the Santa Fe Children's Museum by a diverse group which included members of the local Tibetan community.

Joining in for a moment of peace

Some of the locals accompanied us for part of our run

But first, it was time to get creative with bubbles inside the children's museum

After the running there was a little bit of time to explore Santa Fe's incredibly unique downtown area, including its art museum displaying everything from ancient Native American carvings to concave light displays

Santa Fe's tradition of adobe style architecture dates back to the early Spanish colonisers of New Mexico, with a blend of Pueblo influence. This style gives the city an 'earthy' look.

We encountered some incredible generosity in Santa Fe. Life Vessel, a healing centre in Santa Fe, kindly treated two of our runners who were experiencing some aches and pains

Jo Ann (left) and Jennifer from Wholefoods Santa Fe deserves a round of applause for treating our team to a healthy lunch

Thanks Comfort Inn, Santa Fe for so generously hosting members of our team
