USA 27 July: Dexter, MI - Flat Rock, MI

Our kind hosts at the Comfort Inn and Conference Center in Chelsea, MI were joined by the hotel mascot this morning to see us off on the next leg of our run.

The youth from City Camp at Friends School were excited to learn about the Run and asked many questions about Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Run.

Everyone took their turn holding the torch...

and adding their hopes for harmony to the torch.

Friends come together to share the torch and good wishes.

Then a run around the school yard.

Rupasi meets some new friends in Ann Arbor, MI...

who are excited to learn about the Run and lend some very important directional assistance. Ann Arbor is filled with road repairs in the summer including some unexpected road closures. Our new friend gave us some much needed help to keep us running on our way.

A young Chinese student was very happy to learn that the Run passes through his country.

The running continues...

Palash has a great day of running on her last day before returning home. She will be missed.

Sujagaran does some important refueling.

Harita and Palash are welcomed by Mayor Joseph Kuspa of Southgate, MI and his family before the start of the Southgate Heritage Days. The runners were invited to walk in a one mile event as part of the opening proceedings.

Mayor Kuspa acts continually shares the torch with Southgates' many citizens.

Kapila and Palash share a moment of humor in Mayor Kuspa's office to celebrate his win of the Joe versus Joe contest.

And finally, Mayor Kuspa shows the runners a piece of artwork by the founder Sri Chinmoy and previously gifted to him by Kapila.
