I am fortunate to have been involved in the World Harmony Run since its inception in 1987. I keep participating over the past 23 year primarily becasue of the children who always offer us in inimitable ways the joy and enthusiasm that is so needed for a harmonious world. I also look forward to joining international team members and to run with them throughout this vast and beautiful country, meeting the people and sharing the harmony that Sri Chinmoy promoted in creating this wonderful event.

The Harmony Run renews my hope that the world will find its way to the power of love over the love of power... and I like birds.

I always wanted to travel and see the world, to experience different cultures and ways of life. The World Harmony Run is such a unique opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and to feel a common bond with them despite different nationalities. Running through the landscape offers such a personal connection with the world we live in. For me it is the most precious way to travel.

In 1999 I was with the European run and visited every country, now I wanted to experience America beyond New York City where I visit frequently. I love being on the run - every day is very special out here.

I've been involved with the Run in the UK and Europe for many years, as a runner and organiser, and it's been a long-term dream of mine to come and run in the wide open spaces of America.

I was always interested in seeing and feeling America. When I was offered the opportunity to run here I didn't hesitate for even a second. Everyday we meet many kind and generous people who very kindly offer their help and encouragement. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity.

Why I'm here: I believe the World Harmony Run will inspire other people to take those first steps for a more harmonious future and I believe that I can make a difference. When you're on such a journey you cannot remain unchanged. The people I meet will also inspire and touch me profoundly and hopefully I will become a better person.

I'm on the US run because I love it. I feel it is the most meaningful and significant thing I can do with my life. Life on the road, carrying a torch for peace, is a remarkably enriching and rewarding experience. Connecting with people around an ideal - a yearning for a more harmonious world - is beautiful and inspiring. It gives me life and I'm grateful.

I like to run and to combine travel and running is twice the joy. The Run enables me to share the tremendous happiness I experience. Of course sometimes it can be challenging and tough but all these experiences will for be etched into our hearts and help us find unity. The most special thing is when we meet with children. In their eyes I see the beauty of cheerfulness and wonderment of what we are doing. We share with them our experiences and they give us back their enthusiastic smiles, hopes and heartfelt encouragement! And that is absolutely amazing.

I love humanity. Running with the torch helps me to share and realize the dream that humanity is fast approaching a new golden age of where peace and harmony will permeate our society.

The World Harmony Run is the best way to share what I have and what I am. For many years I have participated in this run and every time it is something special to me. Each time I discover something and I learn something. Everyday I run mile after mile, I feel tremendous satisfaction and I get enormous encouragement from nature, from the surroundings and from the people who smile and greet me. I am grateful for the opportunity to touch the hearts of thousands of people. The World Harmony Run is one of the greatest experiences of my life.
