  • 13-08-2008 – I am so thrilled that Maryborough stepped up to the plate ... I know those Town Hall steps so well - saw some pics on the web site inside the Town Hall - that was the scene of some of my best performances ... twice when I was at school (Central State School - where I believe the runners went) I starred in school plays and also, once we won the eistedford when we sang the Skye Boat Song ... Maryborough always was great ... Oh yeah - I am sure that i did meet that Town Crier ... Great work - give my best wishes to everyone. – Sadhak Hearst (New York)

  • 09-08-2008 – Hi everyone on the Australian WHR: I just wanted to congratulate all of you for this 3 1/2 months run which is ending next week. I have watched every day your update every day since the run started and it is always inspiring since you always seems to make something very special about every day and put it on the website always on time.

The photo shots are absolutely superb with great colors and great zooming. I almost get the feeling that I am taking part in the run just by watching you online where I am seeing all the best of Australia, the unique landscape and the unique animal life and the great spirit of the world harmony run thanks to all of everyone that have participated this time. I will definitely run the lap around Australia sometime in the future.

Special wishes to the Iceman in the run. I see that the sun in Australia has melted him but not his overweight problems. Rúnar farðu nú að grenna þig, þú ert að hlaupa tíu til tuttugu kílómetra á dag og það er ekki að sjá að þú hafir grennst um eitt kilo, frekar að þú hafir bætt á þig. Á meðan ég sit heima á rassinum og hleyp ekki eitt skref en missi samt tíu kilo á meðan þú ert úti. Uss kallinn. Gústi bað að heilsa en hann sagði beint frá hjartanu undir rós að þú værir fínn náungi og allt það en menn yrðu SKO að gera sér grein fyrir að þú værir GEÐVEIKUR. Best regards, – Vidir Sigurdsson (Reykjavik , Iceland)

What an amazing and fulfilling journey it must be for you all and also for those of all of us who have followed your adventures on the road through this wondrous site. I can hardly believe that the 'impossible' is almost completed! We shall have to call our run downunder the new impossibility challenger! It is hard to believe that after next week we will all be doing other things than running or following the runners around the continent. How cool would it be to keep going around and take different roads? Before you lynch me for the suggestion, I know you will all be looking forward to a well deserved little rest. Happy last days and many many happy recollections of your experiences. – Melinda Pearson (Geelong, Vic)

  • 06-08-2008 – Wow! It is incredible to think that the Australian WHR is nearing its end. Somehow, it feels like it should be going on every day of the year, for it is always offering something new. This would probably result in several nervous breakdowns for the people that are already breaking their backs to bring us this momentous event, so let's be content with the almost limitless scope of the Run as it is.

Anyway, thumbs up to the organizers and the Team. Gratitude to the photographers and the internet people - all the people who are not mentioned, but tirelessly work to bring a spark of light to us every day through the daily reports.

A special hi to Rúnar: "Reyndu að grennast eitthvað átvaglið þitt!"

I am sure that everyone around the world knows that there was only one King of Iceland ever and that he is buried in Tasmania. We are expecting Rúnar to bring his physical remains home for a state burial. – Suren (Iceland)

Ed. Translation: Hi Elke and Angela, you already look like Aussies, but totally well. Will you remain there or do you think you will return again to Europe? I spent 2 weeks with the 3100 mile race and cooked, because one girl became ill. Nirjharini always speaks of you, Angela, and of how mad it was last year...! Please continue to enjoy a beautiful time in Aussie-land, and return well-tanned and with merry stories to New York. I will be so happy to see you! Until then Elke Wiesenberger (Linz, Austria)

  • 01-08-2008 – Hi everyone, happy 1st August - an apparently auspicious month with an important eclipse today, and another one around 15th!!! Thanks Elke for your comments the other day on your experiences, I would love to hear from our other international venturers their thoughts and feelings? Thanks Bernice for your interesting report on the Nyinkka Nyunyu Centre - I note you mention bush medicines. I am an advocate for the Australian Bush Essences, which are growing in esteem all over the world due to their powerful healing qualities - especially for healing emotions. Australia has the world's oldest and highest number of flowering plants, and due to our low pollution, the wise, old energy of the country combined with its new vitality, they are unique. You should look up what is said about the Boab Tree - quite amazing - ausflowers.com.au Love and oneness - see you in Brisy! – Mrinali Clarke (Melbourne, Vic)
