Australia, 22 May: Run Officially Launched in Australia

The World Harmony Run was launched at the Sri Chinmoy Running and Fitnes Festival in Williamstown, Melbourne on Sunday 22 May.

After an enthusiastic rendition of the stirring theme song to the World Harmony Run by members of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, the Mayor of Hobson's Bay, Cr Caruana and 1968 Olympic 200m Silver Medallist, Peter Norman officially set the runners on their way. It was fantastic to have the support of members of the dedicated fitness community of Melbourne, who ran with the torch for the first 4 kilometres of their races.

At the conclusion of the events, many runners and spectators took the chance to hold the Harmony Torch and feel the spirit of World Harmony.
