Bahamas 17 February: Nassau Schools, St John's College, Governor General's Residence

Our first day of events in the Bahamas was very busy and very exciting.

The students representing Teleos School greeted us outside. Also pictured is Blue (far left), our ever present and tireless driver and Bahamian coordinator Ms. Oria Wood-Knowles (third from left) from the Bahamas Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.

The Teleo school choir was excellent and lifted our spirits with their heartfelt renditions.

Afterwards the students had an opportunity to take the torch outside and join us for a short run.

Everyone had a chance to touch the torch.

Salil, Adhiratha and Jayashri then set off at a leaisurely pace for West Minister College.

Athletes representing Westminster College accompanied us into the school chapel.

Professor Anderson welcomed us and we thoroughly enjoyed a spirited and engaging conversation with the students.

We were honored to present a certificate of appreciation to Westminster College.

Our final school was St. Johns College.

They had prepared an excellent program for our visit.

The talented musians made sure everyone stayed entertained.

We were honored to be able to present our Torch-Bearer award to our dear friend the Hon. Dr. Davidson Hepburn currently serving as the President of the 35th General Conference of UNESCO for his service to the international community over a period of more han 40 years.

St. Johns Principal, Ms. Saunders, joined Dr. Hepburn to hold the torch.

St. Johns students took the opportunity to hold the torch and make a wish for world harmony.

Paintings by World Harmony Run founder, Sri Chinmoy, were on display at the Bahamian Governor General's Residence at the entrance to the official reception.

Officially welcoming the Run to the Bahamas His Excellency, Hon. Arthur Dion Hanna, Governor-General, held the torch with World Harmony Run Executive Director, Salil Wilson.

The beautiful voices of the Bahamas National Children's Choir performed the national anthem.

Two Bahamian luminaries Hon. Arthur D. Hanna (right) and Dr. Davidson Hepburn. As part of the evenings proceedings Dr. Hepburn presented Hon. Arthur D. Hanna with the World Harmony Run Torch-Bearer Award for his lifetime of leadership and service to his nation as well as his instrumental role in the Bahamas achieving independence.

It was a great day and went retired with our hearts full of Bahamian love and good will.
